New Zealanders will await the result of this year’s Caulfield Cup with more than usual interest, by reason of the fact that two horses who formerly raced in the Dominion are at present first and second favourites. 1 refer to Royal Scotch' and Lady Medallist. The former won at nine furlongs on Saturday, and it is open to doubt whether he is capable of running out the extra three furlongs in a race like the Caulfield Cup. Lady Medallist has also shown winning form tins season, but Judging by the race Captain White gave her, the daughter of St. A 1 wynne is evidently not at her best. Eric was heavily supported by his party for the Metropolitan and although he failed to got a place, ran sufficiently well to make his Caulfield prospects fair. Paisano, Wimmera, and Motoa figure amongst the nominations for the Cup hurdle race to be decided at Flemington next month. The names of Continuance and Sir Lethe appear in the Steeplechase, a race worth £SOO.
