WAIHI DAY BY DAY.
(Per Press Association.) Waihi, October 17. Everything is quiet excepting, the demonstrations which occur daily when the men go to work in the morning and return in the afternoon. The boohing can be heard at the early hours of the morning in different parts of town as vehicles pass through the streets and pick up workers at their homes. The case for the prosecution in the charges brought by Jessie Beames against Delaney for alleged assault, is still proceeding. It has now occupied the attention of the Court lor two and a hall days. The male witnesses are mostly pickets, who, in evidence, claimed they were justified in calling out “scab” to workers, and would continue to do so. The case for the defence ii to be opened at noon.
