This morning Sergeant llutledge and Constable McKelvey, of the -Mount Cook police station, raided the premises occupied by Alexander McLeod. A quantity of liquor was seized, which was stored in .demijohns, bottle and washing jugs. A prosecution for slygrog selling will follow. TYPHOID. Palmerston North, October 13. On© of the four fiaxmill hands now in the Palmerston hospital with typhoid fever died on Saturday. The man’s name was Win. Lacey, and he was aged 34 years. He leaves a wife and three children. He was employed at one of tho Moutoa mills, nar Foxton. The matter of these typhoid cases was recently referred to in the House of Represntatives. SUPPOSED LYSOL POISONING. Wllington, October 13. John Christian, who has been staying at the Imperial Hotel for about six weeks'past, was discovered at 10.50 on Saturday night lying on the floor of his room, groaning. Medical assistance was called, and after being treated ho was sent to the hospital. It is supposed to be a case of lysol poisoning. He had been captain of the steamer Kotuku, which was wrecked some time ago.
