V.A.T.C. MEETING. Caulfield, October 12. Bright sunshine, a bit on the warm side, attracted a large crowd to Caulfield to participate in. the opening of the Melbourne spring campaign. The Caulfield entries fell from 542 to 451, while Sydney increased from 870 to 1030. Several Sydney trainers missed nominating for Flcmington as well as Caulfield. In consocpionee of the clashing Lady Medallist was the only Sydney horse performing at to-day’s weight-for-ago races. Governor-Gen-eral Fuller and suite wore present.
