TE WERA NOTES.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) The Te Wera footballers finished up their season on Saturday last by defeating the ' combined 'Puniwhakau and Makahu team, by 22 to 3. The match/ 'Which i was' played ;on the Tt Wera ground, attracted a fair nurm her of spectators, and was played in the ! best of spirits, i The local boys, who were much lighter than their, opponents, were superior in all depart-' ments of the game, 'playing first-class football throughout. Of a liard-,work-ing lot of forwards, Wilds, West, and Hodson were perhaps the pick, while the backs played with fine combination, it being hard to single out any individual player. Of the visitors, Mo riarty and Gooch were the best forwards, while Sutton whs right out on his own in the backs. Tries were scored for the winners by C. Stewart (2). W. Stewart, Summerhays, Wilds, and West, two being converted by C. Stewart and Summerhays, respectively, while Cooper scored for the visitors. Mr. A. G-. Stewart, of Kiorej controlled the game in a very efficient manner. The visitors were entertained at a dance in the evening, about twentj couples being present.
