G OVERNMENT HOUSE. Sydney, October 8. ' The “Telegraph” says that the circumstances attending Lord Denman’s expulsion from Sydney are scarcely creditable to the New South Wales Ministry. VICTORIAN BUDGET.
Melbourne, October 8. The State Budget shows a revenue of £9,937.000, and an expenditure cf £9,745,000. The estimated revenue for the current year is £10,120,000, and an expenditure of £10,097,000. THE TRADE COMMISSION. Melbourne, October 8. Preparations for the visit of the Trade Commission in April are being made by a special staff of the Commonwealth Bureaux of Statistics. Tie States are invited to forward facts showing their economic viewpoint. After visiting New Zealand, the Commission will visit Tasmania. Its investigations are not intended to cover merely existing conditions, but to ascertain the potential wealth which is at present undeveloped, so far as that touches immigration and consolidation of the Empire., MISCELLANEOUS. (Received 8.25 a.m.) Sydney, October 9. Messrs’ Hughes and ’ Greenwood’s horses return by Saturday’s boat. Malt King is amiss, and has probably finished racing. The heat wave continues, and the dryness of the atmosphere is phenomenal, with the lowest relative humidity yesterday on record. Mr Wood again name into opposition with the Speaker Willis, who ordered him to resume his seat. Mr Wood replied with great respect: “I will stand or sit as pleases myself.” The Sergeant-at-arms removed him. In the tug-of-war between Australia and Russia, the rope broke in two, and of the Australians Massy was injured.

Strong agitation against the Early Closing Bill was manifested at a meeting of shop keepers, and a resolution was passed.- unmeasuredly condemning interference with trade.
(A. shipment of five high-bred fillies and the stallion, Orouzino, purchased by Mr Samuel Horden in England, has arrived.
Malt King won twelve races, and £15,000 in stakes.
A selector named Baque at Cootamundra has been committed for tiial for sheep stealing. Yards were found among dense scrub, where hundreds of sheep had been shorn and slaughtered. Apparently the operations had been carried on for years. The City Council ruled that the Daily Telegraph’s application to erect buildings 193 feet in height was out of order, as already the Council had recommended that the buildings were not to exceed 150 feet.
There are many protests in the press concerning Lord Denman’s eviction. The Citizen’s Committee propose to carry out a campaign against the Government to action at the ballot box. The New South Wales and Commonwealth G overnment are badly heckled in Parliament over the treatment of the Gov-crnor-General.

The High Court has commenced the hearing of the Argus’s appeal against a conviction for publishing an unsigned political article. Brisbane, October 9.
As the result of petitions, Mr Breslin has been unseated for Port Curtis electorate in the Assembly.
The Sugar Producers’ Conference has established a lighting fund to protect the industry.
