The September returns of the Midhirst and Stratford Cow Testing Association’s have been responsible for many surprises to the dairy farmers, who have been progressive enough to have their herds tested, and the summary of results which wo publish lielow will be read with interest by many. Mr. S. McKenzie, the official tester for the two Associations, is lining good work, and his efforts are much appreciated by the dairy farmers of tne district, by whom he is very well spoken of. Stratford Association. The following records of the Stratford Association, are compiled for the thirty-day period ending September 20th,' 1912: Butter-fat. Highers herd average ... 36.841 b. Lowest herd average ... 16.011 b. Average Association cow 29,221 b. The 10 highest cows aver’d 44.561 b. The 10 lowest cows aver’d 12.881 b. The best cow gave ... 49.381 b. The worst cow gave 6.451 b. The highest quantity of milk given by one cow was 13271 b., which, at a test of 2.9 produced 38.48 lb. butterfat. ■ The lowest quantity of milk given by one cow was 15011)., which, at a test of 4.3, produced 6.451 b. butterfat.
