j-j.Z. Loan and Mercantile C.’s Report

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Limited and Reduced, Stratford Branch, report as follows: On Friday last we iieid at our yards, Stratford, a dispersal sale of dai; v cows and heifers, on account of Mi. M. T. Phillips, who lias given up dairying. Although the weather was very wot, there was a large attendance ,-jf buyers from Hawera and Eltiiaia as well as a good many local men, and competition was good, resulting in everything, witn the exception of two cows, being sold. A good many of the cows proved to be more or loss defective, which reduced prices somewhat, but the average of the lino, £9 I.os, was very good, considering that a good few of the cows showed considerable age.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. and Recablegram from their London house, under date 27th instant: —Frozen Meat: There is little demand for lamb, the enquiry for beef is limited, and the market is slightly weaker for mutton.
