FIRE AT OKERE.

POST OFFICE AND DWELLING HOUSE DESTROYED.

(Per Press Association.) .'■■......' , Rotorua, September 30. A five-roomed dwelling at Okerc, the property of the Government, and occupied 'by an electrical engineer, was destroyed by firo last night, together with the post office, which was attached. Very little furniture was saved, and tjie "whole of the contents of the post office were destroyed. The destruction of the lines is interfe'n.hg with telegraphic communication with the Bay of Plenty. Very little mail matter was burnt. Mr. and Mrs. 8011, occupiers' of the place, were absent at the time. The building was insured, and the cover on the furniture is unknown. "-J-
