INDUSTRIAL UNREST.
STRIKE AT LAKE COLERIDGE
(Per Press Association.) Christchui'ch, September 23
The dispute between the men employed on the tunnel at Lake Coleridge and the contractor, Mr McWilliams, culminated in a strike. Mz H. A. Campbell, organiser of the Canterbury General Labourers' Union, visited the works in the latter part of last week. To-day he sent the following telegram to Mr A. Paterson, secretary of the Union in Cbristehurcb :—"Tunnel men and engine drivers employed l.y McWilliams at Lake Coleridge are on strike. Warn men against corning here. Men want dismissed -t-pgine driver reinstated, ladders in drafts ton to bottom, extra pay for overtime and double pay on Sundays."
