(Per Press Association.) Waihi, September 18. There was a demonstration lasting all night of men and women opposite the police station this morning. The three prisoners were conveyed to Paeroa and the men and women who had stayed out all night cheered lustily as they drove away. When, the Court resumed this morning Opie and Smith (members of the strike committee) asked for an adjournment of the hearing of the rest of the strike cases till the afternoon, as in the absence of Mr Parry they wanted time to go into the evidence. Affairs at Karangahake are quiet this morning. It was reported that owing to a number of miners of the Talisman and Crown mines taking a whole day yesterday to attend the meeting without asking permission, the management had refused to take them back, but they all, however, resumed work this morning.
