ATHLETICS. (1 >.r Press Association.) At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Atheltic Association it was decided to pass J. McHolm’s record throw of 135 feet 81 inches for the 161 b hammer at Ohristc imrch, and A. Dormer’s 880 yards in Enin 58 l-Gsecs at Auckland. A committee was set up to consider ways and means for the visit of the Canadian athletes. The Council passed a resolution opposing separate representation for New Zealand at the Olympic Carnes. The annual meeting was fixed for November 25th.
SEAMAN MISSING
Wellington, September 17,
William Roberts, seaman, employed on the coastal steamer Opawa, is reported missing. He/ was last seen by
an engineer of the Opawa at 11 o’clock last Thursday night, when the vessel was berthed alongside the wharf. The police have dragged the vicinity without result. Roberts’ age was about 69. BILLIARDS. Melbourne, September 17. In the Lindrum-Harverson match of 16,000 up level, the latter mad© 1336, ir s best break being 269. Lindrum’s total was 765.
