DA N X FA'HIKE RACING CLUB

The Dannevirke Racing Club’s steeplechase meeting was held to-day at Tamaki in hue but dull weather. There was a large attendance. The totaiisator investments amounted to £8728 for eight races, against £5833 for seven events the corresponding meeting last year. '1 hough the holds were large there were only two serious accidents. In the Hacks and Hunters’ Steeple several horses fell. Julian, the rider of Longboat, had his collarbone broken, and the horse broke his back. In the same race Gondolier fell, AV. Adams sustaining a broken leg and collarbone. The following are additional results to yesterday’s list:— Dannevirke Steeplechase.—Don Carlos 1, Glen more 2, Movihiko 3. Also started: Tyrannic, Pukeotara, and Highden. AVon by 20 lengths. Time, smin 24secs. Trial Stakes.—Runaway Girl 1, Moonbria 2, Panthea 3. Also started: Hautu, Facsimile, Divinia, St. Elm, Sir Daniel, Lambton, Elector, Papumarama, Te AVhau, Artificial, Apoplectic, Raufurly, Top Note, Marama, Bonnie Polly, Mysteriach, Grassmere, Kirkly, and The Diver. AVon by a liead. Time, Imin Bsec. Hack Hunters’ Steeplechase.—Whe-

turangi I, Kelp 2, The Ranter 3. Also started: Bonnie Jean, Pukeroa, Waipurcka, Longboat, Paparahei, (gondolier, Major Webb, Barnes and the Colonel (bracketed), Hero, Sagamore, liarata, Corroboroe, Stockman. Longboat fell when leading, and broke his back, and Gondolier also fell early. Bonnie Jean, Waipureka, and Sagamore fell at the sod wall the second time round. Harata ran off', and Pukeroa was pulled up. Wheturangi won easily. Time, 4min 15sec. Ot-anga Handicap.—Lord Renown 1, Royal Marine 2, Elevator 3. Also started: Routine, Coolbeggan, Soatondale, Muleteer, Montreal, Elevator. The winner came through in the straight and won comfortably by two lengths with a length between second and third. Time, Imin 3 l-ssec. Hack Welter.—Kina 1, Moondine 2, Queen of Scots 3. Also started: Manitau, Easy, Lord Kilcheran, Sampan, St. 1 - Helena, Royal Maid, Grassmere, Crown Battery, Trieze, Resonant, Hautu, Moonbine. Won by a length, with half a length between second and third. Time, Imin 37 2-5 sec.
