The Government Meteorologist (Rev O. C. Bates') telegraphed this afterneon as follows: Westerly winds, strong to a gale veering to south. The weather will prohahly prove squally and changeable Bain probable. The barometer has a tendency to fall, hut rise after 2* hours.
