AMUSEMENTS.
Owing to the falling off of the attendance at the matinee performances Madame Bernard has been seriously considering discontinuing these. .Recognising, however, the enjoyment and education which is derived by the children, she has decided to continue holding them for a few weeks, when, if no improvement takes place in the attendance, the performances will have to be dropped, for the time at least. It is to be hoped that an increased patronage of the matinee will render this step unnncccssary, as a large section of the juvenile folk will no dortbt be greatly disappointed.
