CON DITIONS PRACTICALLY NORMAL.

(Pec Presa Association.) Waihi, September 10. Since the advent or an adequate force of police, the condition of affairs at Waihi and at Waikino has become almost normal. Arbitrations ts are going; to and from their work at Waikino and are not now interfered with, the following-tip tactics of the strikers Doing practically abandoned. Engine-* drivers, however, when in the streots, arc still attended by strikers, and in some cases, also, by the wives of the strikers; on those occasions the police are always present. There is plenty of surface work offering by the Waihi Company, and manwhile a good deal of employment is given at Waikino in the way.of general cleaning and overhauling, crushing, and the treatment of plants; also, in connection with the company's electric transmission line from Horahora, Yesterday about_ 30 fresh hands were put on at Waikino, and two or three more this morning. About fifty hands in all are now engaged. The Hayward Picture Show is being boycotted'by strikers owing to the fact that a few' of the engine-drivers are attending. The strikers object to associate in the same building with them. Everything is auiet here, and at Waikino, to-day. Mr. J. Cullen, Commissioner of Police, attends daily at Waikino and Waihi, his headquarters being at Waihi. To-morrow some fifty strikers are to bo summoned to appear at the Court to answer charges of using threatening language, assault, and following en-gine-drivers.
