Following is the High Commissioner’s cable, dated London, August 31st (quotations unless otherwise specified are average market prices on spot): Butter.—The market is quiet and prices arc slightly weaker except for best quality, which is scarce. Danish 128vS, Australian 110 s, Siberian 106 s. Cheese.—The market is firm. The supply of N.Z. is practically exhausted. The average price for the week for finest N.Z. is 675, Canadian 6.3 s to 675. Wool.—The market remains firm.
