GEN 1 EROUS PROMISBS. (Per Props Association.) Dunedin, May 27. The cost of creeling, furnishing, and equipping the no v. Y.M.C.A. building is'estimated at £23,529, of which amount the directors have *£'18,529 in hand or promised, leaving a balance of £SOOO. At a meeting to-night it was announced that three gentlemen had offered to provide .€IOOO each if the public subscribed the remaining €2OOO to enable the building to be opened free of debt. Each of tho three gentlemen has previously given substantial donations to the fund. The offer was accepted with thanks, and a citizens' committee was appointed to raise .£2OOO.
