RECIPROCITY.
I3ETWBEN TH B COM MONWBALTH AND NEW ZEALAND. TH EIR INTEE DEPENDENCE. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. United Press Association. Melbourne, May 27. Mr. Fisher declared that the extent of his proposed reciprocity treaty with New Zealand is the whole hog. Twcnt\ years ago he thought New Zealand "would come into the federation. The same ideal should be kept in Iron! now. "If we cannot go the whole way now," he said, "lei's go as far as ivc can." He had been told that the feeling in favour of an Australasian federation was growing. He thought i 1 right that whether it was growing or not they should encourage it. The fates and fortunes of the Dominion and the Commonwealth were wrapt together, and they must float or sink together, whether they desired it or not. Other people had decided that. He declined to comment on the statement that Sir Joseph Ward bad been urged to enter federal politics.
