NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.
The Show ring attractions this year at the National Dairy Show will be an exceptional feature. A few alterations have been made in the ring programme. On Wednesday, 26th June, the Wanganui and Te Ante Colleges play their usual two Rugby matches, which take up the afternoon. These matches have taken a groat hold amongst supporters of the Rugby game, and are looked forward to with the keenest interest. Thursday’s events comprise pony jumps, maiden hunters, and the hunters’ cup competition. The first prize in the latter is a silver cup presented by Messrs. Collinson and . Cunningharne, of Palmerston North, for a straight-out wirh Before the latter event is taken, a hounds display will be given by the Manawatu Hunt Club, the riders in this, as wpll as the competition, bc’ng in full hmitimr eostume. The draw will be laid round the ring, and the spectacle being a novelty to many people, should prove a great attraction. Friday’s ring events are comprised of obstacle race, high jump for horses, and a “toeball” match between the Wellington and Palmerston North teams. Seeing that this game is so popular in Great Britain, it seems strange that it does not find more favour in the overseas Dominions. The forthcoming match is to be played by leading exponents of the game, and spectators may look forward with pleasurable certainty to a good afternoon’s amusement.
