Wellington, May 21
Decrees nisi were granted by the Chief Justice to-day in two divorce cases—Lucius Charles Cary v. Edith Lilian Cary on the ground of adultery, and Elizabeth Annie Chantler v. Frederick Ohantler on the ground of adultery.
Napier, May 21
Annie Solomon and Mary Lovell, arrested on a charge of being concerned in an alleged illegal operation, were before the Court to-day and were remanded for a week. Mrs Larsen is still in a very critical condition. Palmerston, May 21.
Last night the police raided the premises of William Tie, a Chinese suspected of opium smoking. . They secured sufficient evidence to warrant the arrest of Tie, who appeared before the Court this morning and was fined £lO for having opium in bis possession and £2 for smoking.
