HONORARY TERRITORIALS
COMMANDANT'S APPROVAL. (Per Press Association.) Master ton, May 13. In reply to a communication sent to Major-General Godley by the Daily Times asking for his views on the honorary Territorial movement thcGeneral states that he considers 'it an excellent idea. It could do most to help the defence scheme generally by remaining a purely civilian organisation outside the military forces of the Dominion. The Governor and the Minister for Defence both, approved of the scheme, and he thought it should be kept an entirely non-military organisation. It should lie formed to express interest in and generally help the Territorial units drawn from th district in which any drawn from the district in which any Bide. Honorary members could, says the General, show their interest most practically by assisting Territorials who may be in difficulties, and in combating prejudice and misunderstanding of the scheme and generally making the Territorials realise that they have the civilian community at their backs.
