(Per Press Association.) Napier, May- 8. Private G. Evans, of the Dannevirke squadron, in camp at Tutira, received a serious injury by being kicked in the -stomach by a horse. An ambulance was sent from Napier to meet the party conveying the injured man at the Tangoio washout. Wellington, May 8. ■ The -sudden death is reported of Mr J. Instone, an old resident of Petone and formerly in the Government railway service. Death was presumably due to heart disease. A. J. Wicks, music teacher, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment for indecent assault. Wellington, May 8. Reserved judgment was delivered ip the cases Public Trust v. Pilkington and the International Harvester Co., Ltd., v. Andrews. In the former case, which was whether an adopted daughter was entitled to residuary estate, the Court held that Mrs I’ilkdngton (an adopted daughter) was included and took the residuary estate, In the latter case the Court held thal the determination of the Magistrate was correct and dismissed the appea with costs £lO.
