AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. This week will be an eventful one as far as patrons of His Majesty's Theatre are concerned. To-night that splendid film, 'Enoch Arden," will be screened for the second time, and on Thursday night the'meteoric career of "Dan Morgan, the famous Australian bushranger," will be illustrated by a film over 4000 ft in length. As was predicted, "Enoch Arden" proved to be a magnificent picture. In fact, in many respects it'has had no peer among the many famous dramas that have preceded it. Somo of the scenes, notably the one in which Enoch leaves on the fatal voyage, are beautiful in the extreme. All through the picture shows careful preparation and extreme care in making the film "the best yet." "Enoch Arden" should certainly not bo missed, as it represents that which is the finest and best that the cinematograph can produce. The supporting Sictures were all good, notably the big ■oy Scout film, in which a whole army of boys are reviewed by the King. The nature study picture is quite a marvellous production, showing as it does the life of a plant, even to the actual process of germination. The rivalry between the living skeleton, the strong man, the bearded lady, and the fat woman, concludes the programme in a good comic film. CORONATION SKATING RINK. A grand fancy dress skating carnival will be held at the Coronation Skating Ring on Wednesday, May 15, at 8 o'clock, when prizes will be awarded to the winners of the following competitions :—For girls: Best fancy dress, most graceful skater, egg and spoon race, walking race; and for boys: Best fancy dress, fastest skater, potato race, and a firemen's race. The hall is open every evening from 7.30 to 10.15 p.m., and attendants will be prosent to instruct and assist leaders. STRATFORD SKATING CARNIVAL Great interest is being aroused in connection with the skating carnival which takes place at the Town Hall on Thursday evening next. In another column the competition list aopears. Fancy costumes may be hired at Mr. T. Mercer's, Broadway, any time before Thursday. ,
