QUEENSLAND ELECTIONS.

* —— NO INCREASE OF LIBERAL MAJORITY. INCREASED INDEPENDENTS. Brisbane, April 29. The Liberals now number 43, the Labour Party 28, and the Independents 3. Five electorates are still doubtful. LABOUR’S BAD JUDGMENT. (Received 30, 9.20 a.m.) Sydney, April 30. Mr Griffith, interviewed on the Queensland elections, said ho was not surprised at Labour’s failure. If a section of the community declares war against the general public and trios to starve it out it is only natural to expect the public to hit back. That was what had happened in South Australia and Queensland. If a general strike were organised in Sydney just prior to the elections the Labour Party would get nibbed out.”
