NORTH TARANAKI HUNT.

STRATFORD OPERATIONS. About fifteen members in the Stratford district have joined the Taranaki Hunt. The first hunt around Stratford takes place on May 2nd. Other Stratford dates are: May 30, July 4, and August 15. August 29 is set down on the programme as “to be arranged.” but it will probably,be in Stratford. All the hunts are timed, to start at 1 p.m. The first local hunt, it has been arranged, will be open to anybody desirous of indulging in the pastime. To give beginners a fair chance parts of all fences will be sparred, so that even those whose horses are somewhat shy of fences may still remain “in the hunt.” Thursday’s hunt is to take place at Ngaere, and it is promised that practically the whole of the run will be in view from the main road. The Hunt would particularly like to see the' horsewomen of the district in evidence on Thursday. Those desirous of becoming members of the Hunt should see Mr. E. Jackson or Mr. A. J. Davey, who will give all information. Tl]e terms of subscription are as follows i—Gentlemen £2 10s ladies ss, boys ss,' day licensed 7s 6d.
