THE MAYORAL CONTEST.

(To the Editor “Stratford Post.”) Sir, —A most important matter bear mg upon the election of Mayor v/a; brought up by Mr. McAllister las”, night. Dealing with the recent propos al to acquire the Electric Light Co.’; plant and “goodivill,” which the King Masters combine recently forced upoi the ratepayers at a cost of £9B for taking the poll on the question, and at : risk of a less of some thousands to tin Borough, had not the ratepayers beei aroused to a sense of this danger, Mi McAllister says it has yet to he proven that the proposal M’as not a good one. Air. McAllister is quite right as far ai he is concerned, and since there are none so blind as those that will noi see, .1 quite believe that Mr. McAllister Mill still retain his views on that question, in spite of the 310 to 62 votes of the ratepayers against it. Tc those on the Council it M’as ahvayi evident that Mr. McAllister was a blind folio-,ver of the King-Masters combine, and the electors should take Maiming that this combine still exists, and if they allon- Mr. Masters and Air McAllister to swop seats that the ancient and evil combination of a pro-El-cctric Light Co’s party on the Borough Council M ill be as much emphasised as before. I sincerely hope that once again by five to one the electors will .show that clique that they are not tr bo alloMxd to dominate the Council fo: their oh ii ends, and to the furious detriment of the business of the Borough.—l am, etc., T. L. PAGET. Stratford, April 23rd, 1912. THE MAYORALTY. (To the Editor “Stratford Post.”) Sir,- —As your paper mTH not be published to-morroM’ until the afternoon, and thus electors will not have the opportunity of learning my views on municipal, matters per medium of the “Evening Post,” until the election is M’oll under way, I ask permission ti specially invite electors in the form of a i letter to attend my address tonight, so that they may have an opportunity of learning my views before the poll opens.—l am, etc., AY. P. KIRKAYOOD. April 23rd, 1912.
