Other meats unchanged. Rabbits quiet. LONDON WOOL SALES. (Received 22, 9.15 a.m.) London, April 21. Wool: There arc good sales. The Continent and Yorkshire are operating keenly. Prices are unchanged. Following are the prices realised for the fleece portion of the clips named : Glonside," top Hid, average 9J;I : Christchurch, top lid, average 91-cl; Otaraia, top 10id, average 9-gd ; Oringi, top 9kl, average 9d. The catalogue included 111,023 Dales, 100,217 being sold. Wheat: Three Australian cargoes were sold at 40s 6d, 40s, and 39s 9d respectively. WHEAT SHIPMENTS. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 4,280,000 quarters and for the Continent 2,510,000., The Atlantic shipments are 191,000, the Pacific 15,000. The total shipments to Europe amounted to 1,625,000 quar ters, including Argentine 759.000, Russian 40,000, Danubian 180.000, and India 164,000. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. Wellington, April" 22. Following is the High Commissioner’s cablegram dated London, April 20th .(quotations unless otherwise specified are average market prices on spot):— Mutton. —The market is quiet but firm. Heavyweights are difficult to sell at an average price.of 3kl. Good demand continues for lighter carcases, soiling at an average price of Id, owes 3' f d. Lamb.—The market is steady with a good demand. Prices are firm at last rates quoted. Canterbury 5;Jd, other than Canterbury s|d. Beef.—The market remains firm with small supply, and a good demand continues. N.Z. hinds 4'jd, N.Z. fores 31 cl. Butter.^— I The market is very depressed, buyers of butter holding pecting prices to go lower. A large decrease in consumption is reported on account of high prices and labour troubles recently. The. average price for the week for choicest New Zealand butter was 114 s, Australian 112 s. Awgentinaf 110 s, Danish 1265, Siberian H2s. Cheese.—The market is quiet. Price; arc slightly weaker and the stock i c moderate. The average price for the week for finest N.Z. cheese was 725. Hemp.—The. market is steady but there is no demand. N.Z. good fair grade £2l 10s'to £2l 15s, N.Z. fair grade £2O for any positions. For Manila the market is firmer. Fair current Manila' spot per ton £2l 10s forward shipment £2l 15s. The output from Manila for the week wa; 21,000 bales. Wool.—The market is quiet buf steady. Current quotations for.
