INDUSTRIAL UNREST.

TROUBLE IN BRICKWORKS. <Ter Press Association ) Dunedin, April 19. Trouble is threatened at C. and W. Gore’s brickworks at Wingatui over the question of wages. A deputation from the men waited on the employers and laid their grievances before them, giving them till noon tomorrow to consider the matter. The men are resuming work in the meantime. The employers offered an advance of 6d per day, but this was refused. It is understood that if the demand is not acceded to the men will cease work to-morrow. About 26 hands are involved. The employees were formerly working under an award which expired about 18 months ago, but the union has since been dissolved.
