AMUSEMENTS.

IIIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. There was the usual change of programme at His Majesty’s Theatre last night, there being an unusually attractive programme, the pictures shown being well assorted. Tire star picture of the evening was “Captain lirand’s Wife.” This him depicts the love story of a girl, who rejects her lover and marries Captain Brand, her father’s choice. After a time her husband is ordered to the front in Arizona, and seeks to capture “Agen,” a renegade Indian. Agen, however, captures Captain Brand’s wife on the mail coach, Captain Brand being shot dead. The former lover turns up, rescues her, and all ends well. There are line exhibitions of horsemanship in this him, most stirring scenes being depicted. “Rhododendron Culture” is a lovely coloured floral film, depicting avenues of rhododendron shrubs, in bloom, in Windsor Croat Park—a gorgeous feast of colouring. “Mae’s Suitors” is a very amusing set of pictures, showing the flight of Mine’s father, and herself from her suitors. The suitors engage themselves as sailors, on board too father’s yacht, the situation disclosed being vary amusing. The “Senorita’s Conquest” is another star hi n well wortn seeing. “On Lake Zurich” discloses some beautiful moonlight effects. The Australian -Gazette includes a picture of Auckland harbour, showing a splendid sunset scene. Tak ng the pictures as a whole, they are a line set. There will be a matinee to-morrow afternoon (Saturday), at 2.-30, and on Monday Sir Henry Irving’s masterpiece, “The Bells,” will be put on,
