RUGBY UNION.

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Taranaki Rugby Fuioii was Held last night. Present: .Messrs. McLeod (chair), Garcia, Chalmers, O’Dea, Glenn, Lees, James and Skoglund. The El chain Club wrote stating they were unable to raise a senior team, and asked that their district he incorporated with Stratford for this season, so as to enable them to play two junior teams. This was agreed to, with a proviso that any senior players residing in Eltham should play for Kaponga, as Kaponga is also weak tills season. Mr. Tonks, representing the Patea Club, waited on the committee, and asked that boundaries ho defined between Hawera and Patea. It was resolved to deline a boundary, the dividing line being the Manawapori River to the Ingahnpe Road, and thence along the Ingahnpe Road. A letter from the Kaponga Club with reference to a former player of their club was referred hack for further information. Permission was given to the Patea senior and junior teams to play matches with Wanganui College. It was decided to invite Wellington to send a representative team to Taranaki to play a match with the local team at Hawera on one of the Winter Show days. The question of further improve-, incuts to the Hawera ground was considered, and the Union decided to subsidise the Hawera Chib £1 for £1 up to £2O for further seating accommodation, the Hawera Club to straighten the fences. The fixtures were arranged to start on the first Thursday and Saturday in May. It was decided to ask the clubs to present a football to any school in their respective districts entering a team in a schools’ competition, with_a view to encourage the Rugby game in the schools.
