STATUE OF QUEEN VICTORIA UNVEILED AT NICE. PREMIER’S GLOWING TRIBUTE. Paris, April 13. M. Poincaire, in the presence of Ambassadors and Ministers, unveiled the Queen Victoria statue at Nice. He paid an eloquent eulogy to the late Queen’s character and her relations with France. The ceremony was a remarkable demonstration of the entente cordialc. A hundred thousand visitors, 600 British marines, and 8000 soldiers participated in the ceremony. King George sent a message rejoicing at the British and French in arching together once more. STATUE OF KING EDWARD. Paris, April 13. M. Poincaire will unveil King Edward’s statue at Cannes to-day. FAR-REACHING STATESMANSHIP. (Received 15, 9.40 a.m.) Paris, April 14. The statue of King Edward unveiled at Cannes represents him as a yachtsman. M. Poincaire, in his speech, paid a tribute to King Edward’s Tar-reaching statesmanship, and said King Edward was the first who favoured Berlin and continued the entents, ensuring European equilibrium. The newspapers note that the presence cf King Edward’s grandson in Paris helps to emphasise the reality cf the entente.
