PENINSULAR CO CREDITED WITH DESIRE TO PURCHASE. OTHER COMPANIES INTERESTED (Received 6, 8.5 a.m.) London, April 5.
The Manchester Guardian says that it is rumoured that the Peninsular Co. is about to acquire the Union Co.'s business, though the Canadian-Paci-fic Co. and a recently formed syndicate are also credited similarly.
