TJje record of business done by the Magistrate’s Court, Stratford, for tho f i quarter ending March 31st, 1912, show,s that 12 sittings have been presided over by the Magistrate and 11 sittings presided over by Justices of the.. Peace. There were 138 cases heard by the Stipendiary Magistrate, 8s 8d being sued for, and £1232 12s (kl being recovered. One application was heard in Chambers, two orders were made other than judgment summons. Two hundred and thirtyniiiej plaints were entered, 9. distress waijnjnts issued, 33 judgment snrnmqiises issued, and 9 orders were made on the same. Three warrants of commitment were issued. Two hundred and.,thirteen summons and other processes were served by the bailiff and assistants. He also executed 11 distress warrants and four warrants of commitment. £124 9s was collected in civil, fees and £4 5s paid in licensing fees Sixty-nine males and six females were, taken into custody, summoned, or apprehended. In this branch £3O blfis was collected in fines and sixteen guineas in fees. In the Old Age Penmop branch s : x old age pensions and four widows’ pensions were granted, none were refused, and there'are six pending.
