ARRIVAL OF THE TERRA NOVA AT AKAROA. DODGING THE PRESS. (Per Press Association'.) Wellington, April 1. The Terra Nova arrived at Akarca at six a.m. The reason she has not come te Stewart Island, as was given cut, is that on former occasions attempts were made to intercept news there by persons from America and o+her countries. Even tee other da;. an offer of fifty pounds was made to a Government official at Half Moon Bay to send the message to''America. To delude these gentry, therefore, Stewart Island was -mentioned again as her port, and her real destination was kept secret. PARTY LEFT BEHIND. Christchurch, April 1. It is uncertain whether any s will be available of Scott's expedition for the evening papers. "CREW SEEM SATISFIED." Christchurch, April 1. , The Terra Nova arrived at Akaroa early this morning and cruised about the harbour. Launches which put out from the shore were not allowed to communicate and no news was given except that the men aboard were all fit and well. Those who went out found a boxing contest in progress on deck with a kfnematograpb operating. A brief- message from the "Star's" correspondent says "the crew seem satisfied." AGENT UNTOMMUNICATIVE. Christchurch, April 1. Mr Kinsey, interviewed, said he had had a brief message from Akaroa reporting "all well" on the Terra Nova. One party remained behind i:t the Antarctic. He was asked if Scott was on board the Terra Nova, but said he was unable to supply further information at present.
