THE NEW CABINET.
The new Cabinet as chosen by tin. Hon. Thomas Mackenzie was announced late last night. It cannot possibly be considered a strong band, but with the material at hand wo doubt whether the new Premier could have done better, remembering that a clean sweep of the Treasury benches has boon made with the single exception of the Hon. Air Maclcgmao himself. That some of the gentlemen to-day selected to the administrate should ever have had a chance to obtain such, honour, would hardly n ivc been seriously entertained a few > cars back. But the old order cluing dh, and the surprises which politics ;voduce are ever new. Every man in the new Cabinet except the Premier is untried: the position is an aim ml unique one, and if Air Alackendo can carry things through with his unbroken team and bis frightfully narrow margin, bo will be a very cievei man. If bo cannot—then the election! In the meantime sensible people will not make too much noise, but will quietly await developments.
