Hoaly -said he had paid Parker £33 for hire of cars on the election days and during the campaign Hogan offered witness vehicles for use on polling days, but not free. To Mr. Skerrett: He was aware that it was not proper for Duncan to hire cars for use on election days. Duncan gave witness a cheque for £309 odd to pay all election expenses. He could not say that the £33 was not included' in Duncan’s cheque. To Mr Chapman : .Both witness and the other secretary were out -of pocket over the election. He hired four vehicles for use on election days. He was not encouraging Morrison in playing false to McCallum. He-would not swear that Sinclair did not tel! him that ho had seen Morrison, 1 and Morrison had said he never received money from Macey. He had not paid £5 towards the cost of the petition.
