CASE OE ALLEGED SLANDER AT MASTERTON.
(Per Press Association.") Masterton, March 21. At the Supreme Court, a case of alleged slander was commenced yesterday, and was not concluded at the luncheon adjournment to-day, in which Mrs. E. Humphries, ol daivvillo, claimed £OOO from Frank G. Kompton, farmer, of Glarcville, the grounds of slander being that defendant had stated that plaintiff, who was sister of defendant, had committed adultery on several occasions with a man named Donald Fiulayson. Plaintiff and several witnesses stated that it was impossible for adultery to bo committed as alleged by defendant. For the defence, defendant, Emily Kompton, and Harry Kompton, gave .evidence as to seeing misconduct.
