THE ANNUAL CONVENTION. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, March 20. The W.C.T.U. Contention passed the following resolutions: “That in view of the fact that exhibitions of moving pictures may either be of great educational value or/ be subtle but effective teachers of immorality and vied, the Government should appoint a censor to examine all films proposed to bo publicly exhibited; that the law lie so amended that youths under 21 may not be able to procure liquor for consumption off the premises; that unions represented at the Convention are in thorough sympathy with the work of the Bible in schools, and will give school committees all the help in their power; that the time limit now enforced where charges of offences against girls are made should be entirely abolished.” The convention also protested against the retention of the totalisator and expressed the opinion that women should be given equal rights with men in regard to religious instruction, and that equal wages should -be paid both sexes for equal work.
