Per Press Association ) Hamilton, March 18. George Hyde, Government Valuer, met with a serious accident by being thrown off his motor cycle. He sustained a broken nose and cuts to tho head and face, and bruises on the body. Mrs. Foote diet! 'at the Waikato Hospital while undergoing an operation" At the inquest a verdict of accidental dentil was returned. Invercargill, March 18. Messrs. Chapman and; Alexander, who are to conduct a mission through out the ,Doininjh)n, arrived from Melbourne to-day, and are holding a meeting to-night. They are to proceed north to-morrow. Wanganui, March 19. An outbreak of fire occurred this morning in the drapery shop of W. J. McKern an, in the Avenue. The lire was early discovered and put out, hut the damage by water and smoke is estimated at £6OO. Insurances: Building £BOO, stock £I2OO, both in the State office.
