The Methodist Conference was practically concluded to-day. The conference adopted the committee’s report in favour of the. New South Wales system of Bibles in schools. Resolutions were passed expressing satisfaction at the splendid vote recorded in favour of National Prohibition, and urging fresh efforts. The conference expressed the conviction that the Government should take stops for tiio abolition of the totalisator, also a protest against the no temere decree. The election of chairmen of districts resulted as follows: Wanganui, Rev. Spence; Wellington, Rev. Serpell; Canterbury, Rev. Law; Nelson, Rev. Baumber; Otago, Rev. Fairdough; (Auckland, hon. president, ex officio.
