WANGANUI CUP MEETING. (Per Press Association.) 'Wanganui, February 29. For the opening clay of the Wanganui Cup meeting there was a large attendance. The weather was good, and the track in fine order. Results:— Stewards’ Handicap.—Red Lupin 1, Sea Oueen 2, Coromandel 3. Scratched Rauparaha, Kaiiroa. Won by a nose; a nose between second and third. Petre Hack.—lneu.ru l,.Nukuatu 2, Dirge 3. Scratched : Ngatiranui; Clemoes, Ohine/Matlow; Alrha, and Moirette. The winner led all the way, and won easily by a- length. Time, Imin 14sec. I

Western Hurdles.—Captain 1, Wan putere 2, Leolantor 3. All started. Won by a length and a half, half a length between second and third. A splendid race. Captain Bell stumbled and Xavier pulled up at the six furlongs post. Time, 3min 59sec. Tayfiorth Hack Hurdles.—Cornelian 1, Seaman 2, Bismarck 3. Scratched: Ra-winia, Muleteer, and Maisonette. Won by a length and a half, after a good race. Time, 3min 14 2-osec.
