THE CHINESE REVOLT.
QUEENSLAND PARTISANS COME TO BLOWS. REPUBLICANS REINFORCED. Brisbane, February 23. Chinese supporters of the Republic and Manchus fought a pitched battle at Atherton. Stones, bottles, and other missiles were used, several hoing injured on each side. The police intervened. Reinforcements for the Republicans left Cairns for Atherton, some previously purchasing revolvers and ammunition. The police arc taking steps to preserve the peace.
