iPer Press Association.! Feilding, February 22. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day Martin, licensee of the Awahuri Hotel, was proceeded against for employing unlicensed barmaids. He pleaded guilty to a technical breach, and said his wife was ill, and his barmaid. had left. Two ladies were engaged, one of whom was a widow, the other was married. Both were about 50 years old. Both were in the bar, but only one was working. The Magistrate inflicted a fine of 40s for the one who served and 30s for the other. Wanganui, February 22. At the Supreme Court to-day the retrial of A. V. Vinsen for alleged indecent assault and carnal knowledge resulted in a verdict of not guilty.
