APPEAL BOARD.
RAILWAY BODY’S SITTING. (Ter Press Issociation.) Dunedin, February 19. A sitting of the Railway Appea Board was held to-day to consider oh jections by J. Brown, stationmasteat Burkes; P. Hartland, clerk, Grey mouth; P. Bond, clerk, Christchurch H. Green, stationmaster, Milburn F. Graham, stationmaster, Ross; E Moir, clerk, Dunedin; and R. Buch anan, Timaru, against the promotioi of Messrs. Wellings and- McGovern clerks in the head office. The case fo‘ the appellants was that Wellings am McGovern had been promoted ove them while they had been recommend od for promotion. The case for th Department was that Wellings am McGovern doing specia work for several years, and the Dc partment considered their knowledg and experience of such value as t< warrant promotion. Cases similar t< these occurred every , year. In Moir’; case, it was contended that appellan had been doing work which Welling: and McGovern were doing, but thi: would not be admitted. Decision waf reserved in all cases.
