(Per Press Association.) Napier, February 15. The third and last wool sale for this year took place in Napier to-day, when the combined catalogue of brokers numbered about 2800_ bales. The benches were fully occupied by oversea and Dommion buyers. Bidding was spirited throughout the afternoon, and there was a good clearance of the catalogue under the hammer. According to expectations, the wool offered was mostly from the back country, and it was therefore dingy, and generally lacking that bright and clean condition which characterised the wool submitted at previous sales. Consequently prices realised were on a lower level, but taking the quality and condition into consideration, the prices bore favourable comparison. Several nice clean clips wore offered, and these reached figures quite equal to last sale’s, although in some instances there was a drop of about Id per lb. Pieces, bellies, and locks sold fully up to last sale’s rates, and taking the sale ns a whole the results for growers were better than anticipated. The average prices were as follows :—Halfbred Od, fine crossbred 9d to 9;Jd, medium crossbred Sd to S’d, coarse crossbred 7d to 7cl, lambs’ wool Bd' to 10),d, first pieces 6,'d to 7:]d, second pieces -lf{d to (id, bellies old to fil’d, mulchings 5d to 5-!Jd, locks 3d to 4Jd.
