(Per Press issociation.) Greymouth, February 9. (A fire last night totally destroyed a house owned by Mr Theo King, chief postmaster. Everything was destroyed. The property cost Mr King £IOOO and a year ago lie spent £OSO on it. The house was insured For £SOO in the Phoenix office and the Furniture for £2OO in the New Zealand office. Mr King was under order of removal to the Invercargill office and was expecting to sell his house and furniture to a prospective buyer to-thi y. Gisborne, February 9. .The Governor left Wairoa at ten o’clock this morning and is expected to arrive in Gisborne this evening. Me will bo accorded a civic reception to-morrow, proceeding from here to turn the first sod oF the GisbornoNapicr railway. He will afterwards lay the foundation stone of Holy Trinity Church and the new hospital. In the evening His Excellency will be tendered an official dinner. The Governor had a rough experience in the last stage of the overland trip from Rotorua and Wailcaremoana and declares that the last ten miles was the roughest journey he had over experienced ; but he was delighted with the lake scenery.
