SUPREME COURT SITTINGS. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, February 9. In the Supreme Court John Chi tty Clendon petitioned for divorce from Annie Clendon for misconduct with George Whitfield, which respondent admitted but co-respondent denied. The jury returned a verdict mulcting co-respondent in £SOO, thefull amount claimed, and an order was made with costs on the highest scale, a Vfarge portion of the damages awarded to go to respondent. William Francis Inder, solicitor, -of Gore, petitioned for divorce from Lilian Inter, Arthur Stock!art being named as co-respondent. Petitioner stated that he married Leah -Lilian Levy at Dunedin in 1900. They lived together till 1901. He learned that ■his wife was addicted to the morphia habit and in 1908 lie secured a separation from his wife, but had regularly paid her an allowance then fixed. As he was r leaving by the express train from' Dunedin his wife rushed upon the platform and presented a revolver at him, and to avoid a scene he jumped out of the, train and drove her to one hotel while die went to another. The co-respondent, lie understood, was known as a racecourse guesser. The case is proceeding.
