The sugar crop in New South Wales and Queensland is considerably below the estimate, being in New South Wales 10,700 tons, and in Queensland 163,637. Largely increased imports will he necessary as a result of having the bounty increased. The Customs duty net gain to the Treasury will ho £140,000.
