A NON-UNIONIST HUNT. (Received 10, 10.35 a.m.) London, February 9. Two thousand dockers at Glasgow rushed the barricades, overpowered the police, and hoarded a steamer, searching for non-unionists. The police made a baton charge and made twelve arrests. BIG AMERICAN SCHEME. (Received 10, 10.0 a.m.) New Yqi'lc, February 9. According to Chicago newspapers labour leaders are secretly perfecting a territorial organisation of railroad and shop employees. It is proposed to include every road operating west of tho Mississippi with the object of enforcing the demand for a general increase of wages. The plan involves a general strike on all roads if wages are not increased. WELLINGTON MEAT WORKERS. Wellington, February 10. So far as made known there arc no important developments in tire meat workers’ strike. At both Ngahauranga and Pctone certain hands are still working and it is-stated that tho works could now close down in a short time without great inconvenience being-caused. Amass meeting of the. men. was held this morning. The result of the proceedings has) not' transpired, but it is understood that the slaughtermen will “down tools” if outside labour is employed. The strike committee has not yet approached the employers.
